The Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS)\u00a0has obtained a civil approval from a British court ruling that it has jurisdiction to consider one of the cases filed by the institution against its former director, late Fahd Al-Raja\u2019an and others.<\/p>\n
Informed sources told Al-Rai daily that this approval is of additional judicial importance to the institution, as it reflects a previous British judicial position in a similar case against Al-Raja\u2019an, and 36 other people, including foreign banks and financial institutions, as it was demanding \u201cinsurances\u201d of $847.7 million arising from operations and financial transfers, which took place between 1994 and 2014, and bears suspicion of corruption and violates public money and bribery laws.<\/p>\n
The sources indicated that the court at that time had expressed its position that it had no jurisdiction to consider such cases, given that the dispute is from parties, a place, and a reason related to several countries, noting that the court\u2019s examination and its determination of the extent of its jurisdiction to hear the case or the dispute takes place before entering and examining the subject matter of the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
