The agency, according to Al-Qabas daily, indicated that high-resolution images from the Sentinel 2 satellite were analyzed by Geo Analytics Kairos for the availability of 7 clouds of methane over a period of 20 days last October, which appeared to be emanating from a burning hole associated with the Burgan field.<\/p>\n
It stated that the monitoring system of the Kuwait Oil Company sends its data every 5 minutes to the Environment Public Authority, and quoted the company as having not detected any excesses of methane emissions in previous periods.<\/p>\n
The CEO of the Kuwait Oil Company, Ahmed Al-Aidan, told the agency that after reviewing the satellite images, we did not detect any methane emissions in that area referred to in the images, and no leaks were reported throughout last October.<\/p>\n
