Anwar Al-Kandari, the director-general for the French language at the Ministry of Education has the ministry will introduce the French language for the tenth grade students calling it optional. <\/p>\n
However, a local Arabic daily quoting Al-Kandari, explained the ministry will seek the opinion of experts and the concerned authority and parents before this subject is introduced in the curriculum. <\/p>\n
He said this on the sidelines of the Etiquette and Hospitality workshop at Maria Coptic High School which was held under his patronage. <\/p>\n
Al-Kandari said studying \u201cFrench\u201d will be optional in the tenth grade to give the opportunity for students who wish to study, to learn and practice this language. <\/p>\n
He noted there is a plan to develop and improve the curricula, especially since the current curriculum was implemented more than 10 years. <\/p>\n
He added that the process of developing and implementing the curricula is expected to be completed as of the next academic year 2023-24, pointing out that he hopes to reconsider the idea that was implemented years ago to introduce the French language into the middle school classes, “which we believe was successful.” <\/p>\n
Returning to the event, Al-Kandari stressed that it aims to enhance the students’ ability to speak and learn French outside the classroom, noting that any language needs continuous practice if the desire is to master it. <\/p>\n
For her part, the first instructor of the subject in Hawalli Anwar Al-Radwan said there was keenness to organize this event in cooperation with the English language guidance and the home economics guidance with the aim of encouraging female students and enhancing their abilities to speak fluently and practice the languages they study, in addition to promoting the values of respect, etiquette and literature of dialogue and conversation especially since they are in secondary school and are about to join the university. <\/p>\n
In turn, the director of the school, Manal Al-Mutairi, said that the school administration is always keen to enhance the values of the students through workshops and targeted events. <\/p>\n
She said there is permanent cooperation with technical guidance for the benefit of the educational process and the students, noting that easing the procedures that were introduced during the \u201cCorona\u201d contributed to the return of the activities and improve and develop the students’ perceptions and awareness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
