An environmental awareness day under the slogan \u201cKuwait is cultivating\u201d was held by the United Nations Settlements Program in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy along with the Team of Al-Shamiya Youth Center Reserve in Kuwait.<\/p>\n
The program was directed towards social issues, concerning children\u2019s welfare, highlighting agricultural issues, and protection of the environment from climate change. This program was held in conjunction on the occasion of Thanksgiving in Canada.<\/p>\n
The Canadian Ambassador H.E Alia Mawani stated, Thanksgiving is celebrated on October 10 every year, it is a tradition to express gratitude for all the blessings in our lives not only for of having our family, health or friends but to also show gratefulness for the environment, by honoring its connection to our lives.<\/p>\n
She further added that the event focuses on children because change in the future depends on them. The awareness program committed to recycle plastic containers by putting them to use in simple farming techniques.<\/p>\n
Amira Hassan announced that \u201cUrban October is a month which calls attention to issues with regard to urbanization, sustainable cities and anything in co-relation to urban infrastructures.<\/p>\n\r\n
