{"id":103797,"date":"2022-09-01T10:00:05","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T07:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/?p=103797"},"modified":"2022-09-01T10:00:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-01T07:00:05","slug":"students-are-not-obligated-to-buy-uniforms-books-from-private-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/students-are-not-obligated-to-buy-uniforms-books-from-private-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Students are not obligated to buy uniforms, books from private schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to complaints filed by a number of parents against several private schools that forced them to buy school uniforms for KWD 50, the Department of Special Education, represented by the Controller of Financial Affairs Hamid Al-Shammari, said in a statement that private schools are not allowed to collect any fees or other expenses other than the approved tuition fees without prior approval from the Ministry, based on rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Shammari also stressed that students are not required to purchase books, school uniforms, or pay for electronic or transportation services, reported an Arabic paper. He added that private schools are not allowed to collect any additional fees for electronic collection services for tuition fees. Violating schools will face applicable penalties.<\/p>\n<p>He reported that one of the schools in question was contacted and informed of the increase in the price of school uniforms and forcing parents to buy them, pointing out that the school retracted the matter and left the freedom of choice to the guardian.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Shammari stressed that the Ministry will not tolerate any school that violates the regulations issued by the Ministry of Education.
