The US recorded almost 55,000 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, whereas Brazil’s total cases surpassed 2.4 million.
The US recorded 54,953 new coronavirus cases and 470 new deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University. The tally showed that the total cases in the nation reached at least 4,233,923 and 146,935 deaths.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s health ministry reported 24,578 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total to 2,419,091.
The ministry also reported 555 new deaths as the country’s death toll reached 87,004. The US and Brazil rank first and second globally in the confirmed cases and deaths.
