The US recorded over 64,000 new coronavirus cases and at least 1,000 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University Wednesday.
The tally showed that there were 64,534 new cases nationwide and 1,082 reported deaths, bringing the confirmed cases to at least 3,899,211 and deaths at over 141,995.
Meanwhile, California has surpassed New York with the highest number of confirmed cases in the US.
The total number of cases in California reached 409,382 compared to 408,181 in New York but still has the highest number of deaths in the nation, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The US ranks first globally in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths.
