Two Kuwaitis arrested during investigations into Bangladeshi MP

An official from Manpower Authority and a former candidate of National Assembly were sent to the central prison for 21 days during the investigations into a Bangladeshi MP for human trafficking by selling visas, money laundering and bribery.

Last week the Public Prosecutor had decided to extend custody of Bangladeshi MP for additional 21 days by referring him to the central prison as investigations are underway leading to many surprises such as the revealing of high profile names in this case.

During investigations, the Bangladeshi MP denied the accusation of bribery, and offered a justification for his paying bribes.

“I have 9,000 employees in Kuwait and 100% clean bids. No governmental entities have questioned my work in the past, but some officials would not allow my work to go through if I did not pay them. What am I to do in this case?” said Bangladeshi MP Islam.

Regarding the amount of time needed to finish up the investigations, the daily revealed that for such an issue, with the emergence of names, personalities and serious charges, it will take some time, to ensure that no official or citizen who had a hand in the crimes be allowed to escape accountability.
