Twitter gets rid of identifying the type of phone in tweets

Twitter announced, Sunday, that it will no longer specify the type of Smartphone from which any tweet is published. With the new procedure, the famous phrase “Twitter for iPhone” or “Twitter for Android” or even “Twitter for the Web” will not appear in front of users in any published tweet.

Twitter’s new director, billionaire Elon Musk, said last month that the company would “finally stop adding the device on which a tweet was posted,” describing the job as a “waste of screen space and account,” reports a local Arabic daily.

“We will finally stop adding any device from which a tweet was written,” he wrote in November, in response to a user’s tweet, adding: “Literally no one knows why we’re doing this.”

It is noteworthy that Elon Musk announced last week that the company ‘Twitter’ intends to increase the limit of characters in publications on the social networking platform from 280 characters to 4 thousand.

Musk said on November 6 that the social media platform would soon allow users to post long posts.
