The Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh has issued a clearance on the issue of transfer of vehicle saying if the deal is between family members (father, son, brothers, husband and wife) it need not go through the procedures mentioned earlier, mainly proof of payment, Al Rai reported,
Al-Sayegh explained that if the vehicle is gifted the owner of the vehicle must sign a document at the GTD headquarters.
He explained to Al-Rai that this system is not strange and exists in most countries to ensure the deal is made through legal sources and ensure black money is not involved.
