The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport revealed that the procurement committee in the Ministry of Works has agreed to proceed with the procedures to submit a project for detailed study and design work and preparing the railway tender documents (first phase) that will cost the State Treasury one million dinars.
The sources told a local Arabic daily, the Ministry of Finance had previously agreed with the authority to start the study, preliminary design and preparation of railway tender documents (first stage), within the limits of the estimates included in the authority’s draft budget for fiscal 2022-2023, explaining that the Ministry of Finance stipulated, with its approval, that the awarding and contracting procedures should not take place, except after the issuance of a law tying the authority’s budget to the said fiscal year.
