Two Africans and an European were arrested for trading in counterfeit currencies. A large tranche of fake Kuwaiti dinars and US dollars were confiscated from the three men, including KD20 and US$100 denominations.
A reported tipoff is believed to have led the detectives to the counterfeiters and to nab them as they were attempting to exchange the fake notes in a local market. Counterfeiting equipment and tools to forge the currencies were later seized from the men. The trio have since been referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and action.
