The dead man is not Kuwaiti

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo quoting Egyptian security authorities said the corpse which was found in the Haram area of the Egyptian Giza governorate is of an Egyptian and not Kuwaiti.

Al-Jarida daily said in a press statement, the embassy expressed its sincere thanks to the Egyptian authorities for their cooperation with the embassy and for quick identification of the victim and informing the embassy.

Earlier the Al-Qabas daily quoting a diplomatic source had said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kuwaiti embassy in Egypt were following up on the issue after it was said the body was suspected to be of a Gulf citizen. The source added, “His residence and his calls were being confirmed as official confirmation was awaited.”

The Egyptian media had reported that the security services had found the body of a suspected Gulf citizen cut in half inside a property in the Haram area of the Egyptian Giza governorate, and that investigations were still underway to reveal the identity of the killer.

According to the Egyptian media, the body was transferred to the mortuary, and that the detectives of the Giza Security Directorate are intensifying investigations to uncover the mystery of the crime by interrogating residents living in the property that witnessed the incident and those who frequent it, in addition to examining the surveillance cameras surrounding the crime scene, as well as checking the incoming and outgoing calls to the victim’s phone in addition to other observations.

The sources explained a number of suspects were being summoned and interrogated to uncover the mystery of the crime.
