Kuwait Cabinet approves the resumption of commercial flights to Egypt, India and other Asian countries

The Cabinet approved, during its meeting on Wednesday evening, the opening of direct flights to Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Arabic daily Al Rai reported.

The decision is expected to be implemented from Sunday Aug 22. The flights would be subject to measures by the Kuwait’s Ministrial Coronavirus Emergency Committee

The sources indicated that as usual in the past two weeks, there is a tendency for the Council of Ministers to hold a meeting every Wednesday devoted to discussing economic issues and new business.

In this regard, the Council of Ministers is expected to discuss at its meeting today the resignation of Finance Minister Khalifa Hamadeh as part of the latest work.

A government source confirmed to Al-Rai that the Council of Ministers, which meets every Wednesday in addition to its meeting every Monday, has decided that Wednesday’s meetings will be devoted to discussing decisions related to the economy and Corona.

He referred to the establishment of an iftar banquet for fasting ministers and workers on the occasion of Ashura.

The head of the Center for Government Communication and the official spokesman for the government, Tariq Al-Mirzam, confirmed what was published by “Al-Rai” about the cabinet meeting, as he indicated that he will hold an exceptional meeting shortly to follow up on the implementation of government projects, in addition to discussing the reports of the authorities related to confronting the Corona virus.
