Asian Games – the biggest multi-sport games after the Olympic Games, is the most prestigious event organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Asian Games has launched #NextAtAsianGames on their official social media profiles to encourage citizens of the world to suggest a sport they wish to see included in the upcoming Asian Games and its other events.
People are invited to post their sport suggestions on their social media profiles on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with the #NextAtAsianGames and the sport(s) which receives maximum submissions will be considered to be included in the future Asian Games by OCA.
The organizers of the Asian Games value recommendations from people, fans and viewers as it appreciates regional & other prominent sports that have garnered large interest globally. This campaign will also be supported by eminent sports personalities and International Olympic officials.
The recent Asian Games 2018 hosted in Jakarta – Palembang featured 58 sporting disciplines including 10 new sports such as, Pencak Silat, Bridge, Sambo, Kurash, Rollersports, Ju-Jitsu, Rock Climbing, Paragliding, Jet Skiing and 3×3 Basketball which made their first-ever appearance in the 67-year history of the games.
The Asian Games are held every four years and follow the sports programme of the Olympic Games, with swimming and athletics as the core sports. It gives the opportunity to athletes in various sports to represent their country or region in top-level competitions.
