Thai Embassy in Kuwait announced that from May 1, Thailand will lift all Covid-19 restrictions so that there is no longer a need for PCR test or quarantine for vaccinated travelers. Unvaccinated travellers will require a negative PCR certificate.
The embassy explained that it is necessary for travelers to Thailand to register on the ‘Thailand Pass’ platform before traveling and obtain travel insurance.
The embassy added that restrictions related to Covid 19 have been lifted inside restaurants, tourist destinations and other business sectors 24/7 across Thailand. All the country’s facilities have returned normal.
The Thai government encourages foreign travelers to self-examine using express testing tools during their stay in Thailand, and travel insurance will cover the treatments of those who test positive for Covid-19.
Travelers to Thailand, according to the embassy statement, can register on the ‘Thailand Pass’ platform to obtain an entry permit to Thailand before traveling through the website https://tp.consular.go.th and upload the necessary documents based on the entry criteria for the different categories and added, it taken only 1-2 days to get approval and a QR code for Thailand Pass will be issued to the traveler to use while traveling to Thailand.
Thailand’s ambassador to Kuwait, Roj Tamongkul, expressed his hope to attract more tourists to his country this year after the return to normal life and the opening of all businesses.
“The Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand is ready to help and welcome Kuwaitis to visit Thailand,” he added. It is reported that in 2019, that is, before the Covid-19 pandemic, Thailand was among the preferred destinations for Kuwaitis, with an annual average of 70,000 travelers for tourism and medical treatment.
