A preliminary agreement was reached on setting prices for quarantine stay at 3, 4 and 5-star hotels, which is a condition for arrivals to enter the country starting February 21st, for both citizens and expats, for 7 days at their own expense, Al Qabas daily reported.
Sources revealed to the daily that the proposed institutional quarantine prices are awaiting approval from officials before the decision enters effect.
The details are as follows:
First (5-star hotels):
The Meal Rate: (Lunch or Dinner) is KD10/-
Single room: KD270
Double room: KD330
Second (4-star hotels):
The Meal Rate: (Lunch or Dinner) is KD8/-
Single room: KD180
Double room: KD240
Third (3-star hotels):
The Meal Rate: (Lunch or Dinner) is KD6/
Single Room: KD120
Double room: KD180
Earlier, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) spokesperson, Saad Al-Otaibi, said first-time arrivals must book a hotel through the Kuwait Mosafer app for the institutional quarantine period before reaching the country.
Airlines will be entrusted with making sure passengers adhere to travel requirements, whether for conducting a PCR test or going for institutional quarantine in hotels.
On the health regulations to be followed for those placed in hotel quarantine, Al-Otaibi stated that health requirements for those quarantined will be the responsibility of the hotels, as there will be designated spots for incoming travelers in each hotel, and meals will be provided to them in closed boxes to prevent the transmission of the Coronavirus.
Regarding hotel prices and their costs, Al-Otaibi noted that travellers can choose the hotel and the price within their budget for their institutional quarantine, with 3, 4 and 5-star hotels available in all comers to the country.
