The Kuwait-Musafer application, which was designed to facilitate travelers’ has become a headache for citizens. Many returnees face difficulty in downloading the app on their mobile phones, which prevented some of the passengers from boarding the flights, Al-Rai daily reported.
The most prominent problem that travelers face with the application is that the application requires the traveler to have a Kuwaiti SIM card to download the application. This caused difficulty for those who do not carry it outside the country.
The head of the Federation of Tourism and Travel Offices, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, said that the application is supposed to play the role of general coordinator between travelers and the state, but citizens and travelers returning to the country faced unnecessary difficulties, all of which are due to technical problems, the application was slow or that it did not work.
In Parliament, several MPs directed their criticism of the application and those responsible for its creation and work, amid calls for its abolition and accountability for those responsible.
MP Osama Al-Shaheen said that citizens’ complaints are many and continuous about the application, and many administrative and financial suspicions have been raised about it amid the silence of the competent authorities, without providing clear justifications for the malfunctions. MP Dr. Hisham Al-Saleh called for the cancellation of this application, and MP Saad Al-Khanfour called for finding an alternative.
