The municipality announced that it has opened reservations for the spring camps in 34 locations marked for this season starting Tuesday until next 15 March. Distributed across Jahra and Ahmadi, the northern region includes 18 sites and the southern 16 sites, in accordance with the requirements and controls. According to the Arab daily, the launch of its awareness campaign to preserve cleanliness runs under the slogan “The land is clean”.
On this regard, municipality spokesperson, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, stated that the municipality has completed all preparations for the season, and has set a number of conditions and controls for licensing camps, including not allowing the establishment of spring camps in sites other than the specified, and public services are to be established near the camping sites. Al-Mutairi added that the conditions to be followed for licensing a spring camp for individuals are that the applicant must not be less than 21 years old, and that no more than one license may be issued under one name. Moreover, the condition also included that the area specified for each license is a maximum of 1000 meters, and that the licensee must pay the non-refundable fee of 50 dinars to the municipality. Furthermore, a temporary insurance of 100 dinars is also payable, wherein procedures are taken to recover it after the end of the camping season, provided that the licensee obtains a certificate of camp cleanliness from the competent department.
In addition, he said that governmental bodies and agencies, state institutions and the like are allowed to have one site for each party, provided that it does not exceed 5,000 square meters. The licensee is also required to leave a distance of 100 m between each camp, according to the official, stressing that it is not permissible to modify the previously chosen site, as the amendment will result in the cancellation of the license, and the insurance amount is not transferred to the new license and that the amount of fees may not be refunded.
Al-Mutairi called for adherence to the site boundaries based on the coordinates shown in the electronic license, and placing the license in a visible place at the entrance of the camp, without renting the camp and using fireworks inside it.
