The Ministry of Social Affairs has warned citizens and residents against donating money to unknown parties or those that do not have an official license, indicating that donations should only be made to accredited charitable organizations registered with the ministry.
In a press statement, the Ministry called for the need to verify the identity of the fundraiser and his affiliation with any of the parties authorized to collect donations, stressing that the donation should not be made in cash, but rather through the authorized means of collecting donations, which are (K-Net), bank deductions, electronic payment links, and electronic payment devices, reports Al-Rai daily
The ministry also warned against organizing fundraising campaigns without obtaining prior approval from the relevant administration in order to avoid legal accountability and in compliance with the law regulating the licensing of collecting money for public purposes.
