Social Affairs Ministry plans to dissolve four cooperative councils

The Ministry of Social Affairs is about to issue a series of decisions regarding the dissolution of four boards of directors in cooperative societies in Ahmadi, Hawalli, Jahra and Asimah, Al Qabas reported. According to informed sources, some members of the aforementioned cooperative councils will be referred to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation over financial and administrative violations.

Meanwhile, the Union of Workers in the ministry put seven labor demands on the table of Acting Undersecretary Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi, which were discussed on Monday through a joint committee. The head of the union, Yahya Al-Dosari, said that the ministry discussed with the Undersecretary of the Civil Service Bureau the issues related to labor requests, and agreed to address the bureau in detail to study the requests soon.

The demands, Al-Dosari revealed, include the payment of an additional annual allowance for some departments according to the nature of their work, treatment of the “A” shift allowance for employees and supervisors in some sectors, and the social workers and psychologist colleagues, as well as the payment of a site allowance for some departments. Also included is the payment of a “risk, infection, noise” allowance for those working in the administration of private nurseries, and considering the transfer of those working in the units of the Family Welfare Department and those who have the title of “accountant / legal”. Moreover, Al-Dosari added the payment of a financial reward to those working in the Ministries Complex and the Social Care Homes Complex as among the demands.
