The Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development announced the formation of field inspection teams, from various government agencies in the country, to monitor electronically fundraising violations and remove them immediately, based on the program for monitoring violations prepared by the Department of Charitable Societies and Foundations.
A statement by the ministry said that this comes as a continuation of efforts to monitor fundraising activities during the holy month of Ramadan, and in order to develop work, after the ministry authorized charities to collect donations in mosques in coordination with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sources warned all donors of the need to verify the identity of the fundraising official as per the list issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs, and keeping in mind that cash collection and in-kind donations are prohibited in all their forms and the use of Knet devices and deductions approved by the ministry.
