Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled briefs cabinet about Iranian FM’s talks in Kuwait

Kuwait Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed cabinet Monday about outcome of recent visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, dealing with boosting regional stability and maintaining free navigation in Arabian Gulf. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also said Zarif and the Kuwaiti officials discussed security situation in the area, political developments at the regional and international levels, Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said in a statement.

The cabinet was chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah. Minister Al-Saleh briefed the cabinet about his participation in a ceremony in Khartoum where the transitional military council and opposition signed a power-sharing agreement. The cabinet, meanwhile, expressed gratitude for Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz for the great efforts that contributed to a successful Hajj season.

The government, said Al-Saleh, assigned Kuwait Municipality to coordinate with Finance Ministry and Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) to establish interim housing units for workers of companies which execute projects outside suburban areas.

It also allowed companies with government contracts to provide housing if they have over 1,000 workers. The cabinet also assigned authorities concerned to take plant trees with the aim of blocking dust from reaching Sabah Al-Ahmad and Al-Khairan residential areas, as well as highways. The government also assigned Kuwait Municipality to study establishment of storage areas in different areas in the country to end storage in basements of private houses and apartment buildings. It eulogized Fahad Abdullah Al-Hawasi, former Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, who passed away recently.
