Total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom have rised to 223,327
Saudi Arabia reported a significant decline in the daily reported coronavirus cases on Thursday, with the detection of 3,183 new infections, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 223,327.
The Health Ministry also announced 41 deaths, taking the death toll to 2,100.
Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali, the Health Ministry’s spokesperson, said that 3,046 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered, taking the total number of recovered cases in the Kingdom to 161,096.
There are 60,131 active cases, including 2,225 critically ill patients who are under intensive care.
“The coronavirus pandemic may take longer time or shorter, as no one can predict how long it will take. However, no need to exaggerate fears of COVID-19 because such fears add more psychological stress,” the ministry’s spokesperson said.
He attributed the virus spread to people’s carelessness as one of the key reasons that lead to the spread of coronavirus, he added.
“So far, we know that COVID-19 is transmitted through droplets, and there are studies underway to examine if it can be transmitted through air,” said Dr. Al Abdul Ali, and reassured community members that the ministry will keep updating the public on the reliable coronavirus related information and developments.
Qatar reports 608 new coronavirus cases, 4 deaths
Qatar has reported the detection of 608 new coronavirus cases, pushing its total confirmed cases to 101,415.
According to the latest coronavirus updates, the Ministry of Public Health announced that four more people have died from COVID-19, taking the country’s death toll to 138.
Also 1,204 infected have made full recovery, bringing the total number of confirmed recoveries to 96,107. There are 5,308 active cases, including 712 critical and 154 seriously ill patients under intensive treatment.
The ministry has so far conducted 396,199 COVID-19 tests, since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, with 5,202 additional tests conducted over the past 24 hours.
