Saudi Arabia reports 2,378 new COVID-19 infections, 37 deaths

Mecca tops Saudi cities with highest number of detected infections

Saudi Arabia has reported 2,378 coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 262,772, including 44,369 active cases under treatment and 2,143 patients in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the nation of 30 million people on Friday recorded 2,241 additional recoveries while 37 more patients succumbed to COVID-19, pushing the total number of recoveries and fatalities to 215,731 and 2,672 respectively.

The latest coronavirus cases were detected after the Saudi Ministry of Health conducted 52,502 new COVID-19 tests across the Kingdom.

Mecca topped the Saudi cities with the highest number of newly detected infections after reporting 195 cases, followed by Riyadh with 139 new cases, and Al Hufuf with 135 cases.

The other new infections were recorded in different cities and provinces across Saudi Arabia.
