Salam Palace is Now open to public

The Salam Palace or the Peace palace Museum opens its doors to the general public. This 300 years old museum includes three main sections; the history of Kuwait through its rulers, the history of the Palace and the civilizations in Kuwait.

The palace is considered a landmark as it portrays the history of Kuwait in a modern and innovative method using the audio-visual medium.

HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has inaugurated the Museum. This palace was one of the most important projects of Amiri Diwan. Finance Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was assigned to supervise the completion of construction and furnishing The reconstruction of the palace and transforming it into a museum took six years of hard work to become the official museum of the state.

Originally it was designed and built during 1950s as a presidential palace for late Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. It received its first visitors in 1964 and for 26 years the palace was visited by more than 166 visitors from emperors, kings, and heads of state and the most important political and diplomatic figures.
