The Minister of Information and Culture, Dr. Hamad Rouh Al-Din, has issued directives to refer all employees working in the Ministry of Information, without exception, who have completed their service to retirement, in accordance with Article 76 of the civil service system.
Sources told a local Arabic daily 54 employees have been referred for retirement and that Rouh al-Din’s decision is aimed at pumping new blood. Since taking over the ministerial portfolio, he has issued several decisions, including referring some undersecretaries to retirement and rotated senior officials with the aim of putting the responsibilities on the shoulders of the younger generation.
The sources added the Minister since assuming the portfolio, has been working to modernize the media system in line with the global perspective and the future outlook.
