Romantic marriage proposal ends in tragedy

A Turkish woman died from the top of a cliff moments after her fiancé asked her, “Will you marry me?”

Yeshim Demir and her fiancé, Nizamuddin Gursu, were celebrating at sunset in the middle of a picturesque view at the top of a famous cliff in Canakkale, in northwestern Turkey, reports Al-Rai daily.

After proposing marriage to Yashim, Nizamuddin returned to his car to bring food and drink for the celebration when he heard his fiancée’s cry, so he rushed to the place where he left her to find her falling from a height of more than 100 feet.

The man later told local media: “We chose this place to have romantic memories of the show. It all happened at once. She lost her balance and fell to the ground.

Yeshim, 39, initially survived the massive fall. Her fiancé immediately called for help, but after 45 minutes of resuscitation efforts, paramedics pronounced her dead from her injuries.

The ominous cliff is a famous place in the city, frequented by many people to watch the sunset.
