Return of Expatriates to Kuwait to be delayed further

Due to the high rates of Coronavirus infection and the increase in hospitalization among expatriates compared to the citizens, officials in the Ministry of Health confirmed that the return of expats would be delayed further, Al Qabas reported.

Health officials said that the current rate of Coronavirus infection is still worrying. Even though the rate of infection has been constant for days, It is unlikely that the month of Ramadan will witness any amendment or easing of the precautionary measures against the virus. Also, the expat may not be allowed to enter until mid-May.

During the first 9 days of this April Kuwait recorded 10,804 cases of coronavirus and 74 deaths.

About vaccinations and the arrival of the third batch of the Oxford vaccine, officials revealed that this batch will not arrive this week, due to the increasing demand.

The Ministry of Health is working to accelerate the arrival of approved batches of vaccines, as well as studying the adoption of other vaccines, such as Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
