A large quantity of expired foodstuffs was discovered in a restaurant in Salmiya. The expired ingredients, estimated at one thousand kilograms (tons), were hidden in the warehouse used for meals served to customers. The Ministry of Trade and Industry sequestered the restaurant and confiscated the ingredients in cooperation with the General Authority for Food and Nutrition. Legal measures were taken against the company.
In another case, the ministry seized a shop in Salmiya that was selling accessories bearing slogans that are considered in violation with the public order of the state. The emergency team sequestered the shop and issued a report of seizure, while legal procedures are being completed against the violator.
