A decision has been issued to grant an extension to the residency and visit visas for an additional three months, starting from the first of September, said Al Rai, quoting informed sources. This was as the deadline for the expiration for residency and visit visas draws to a close.
This was done on humanitarian grounds and due to exceptional cases of expats stranded abroad due to suspension of airport activities.
The daily said, quoting sources, that the decision has also been taken to avoid crowding at residency affairs departments. Awaiting further details.
Earlier, seeing as flights were suspended and airports of many countries are still nonoperational due to coronavirus crisis, any expatriate who has entered on visas of all kinds (Commercial, Tourism, Family) can be extended as per Article 14 (Temporary Visa) until August 31 online.
