This year coinciding with the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Mace Springs club, Toastmasters has announced its first-ever hybrid ‘Tall Tales Contest’. A Tall Tale is an impromptu speech of 2-3 minutes, where participants are invited to create a thrilling tale, which is too tall to believe and too hard to ignore. The physical event and contest will take place at the Better Books Salmiya on Friday 13 May from 9am-12pm.
Delivering the keynote addresses at the event will be:Kiran Bedi, who is the first woman to have joined the officer ranks of Indian Police Service. She has served as the 24th Lt. Governor of Puducherry, and in the United Nations as Civilian Police Advisor in Peacekeeping Operations. She has a PHD from IIT Delhi with a postdoctoral Nehru fellowship. She is an author of several books, the latest being Fearless Governance.
The other keynote speaker will be Maria Victoria Ferrer, a corporate trainer and a personality development coach for adults and teens in the Middle East. She is a certified international professional trainer and certified international professional training manager accredited by the American Certification Institute. She has received the DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters Award) three times and is working on her 4th one.
If you dream to be fearless and seek to reignite your lives, do not miss this unique experience of contesting on stage, listening to world renowned keynote speakers and witnessing an international panel of judges. The contest will be in English and is open to adults 18 years and above. The first three winners will be awarded prizes. The contestants will also be trained through an online workshop on Saturday 7 May from 5-6pm. A link will be shared on the club’s social media handles for the public to view the event online.
