KRCS offers assistance to needy in Kuwait

Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), which pursues humanitarian activities abroad in line with Kuwait’s credentials as a ‘Center of Humanitarian Support’, also assists needy families in Kuwait. 

Heeding His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s directives, the KRCS organized several philanthropic drives last week to coincide with the country’s upcoming National and Liberation Day celebrations. The society is especially intensifying efforts to help children of low-income families, the handicapped, the sick and the widows in Kuwait through its charitable initiatives. 

Following the distribution of various assistance to the needy at an event held at Al-Shaheed Part, the General-Secretary of KRCS, Maha Al-Barjas said, “Our delight with the national celebrations is unlimited. Each year, the number of families participating in the national celebrations increases, and this affirms the society’s commitment to continue helping these families with various programs.” 

For his part, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, the KRCS president, said that the latest activities of the society held in Jordan was intended to provide clothes to Syrian families. He added that a medical team would also conduct surgeries to treat illnesses in various patients. “At the local level, KRCS will pursue philanthropic tasks in Kuwait, with support from the political leadership,” added Dr. Al-Sayer.

Meanwhile, the KRCS board member Dr. Khaled Al-Sebeeh said that throughout the year KRCS launches programs and campaigns to enhance health awareness among the public, the latest of which was issuance of guidelines on protection against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
