Public Prosecution investigating 20 corruption reports

The total number of corruption reports referred by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) and are under consideration by the Public Prosecution reached 20 reports until the end of December, Al Rai daily reported.

According to statistics, the number of first degree convictions in cases referred by the authority reached three judgments, and two judgments were issued by the Court of Appeal in cases referred by the Commission, while one conviction was issued by the Court of Cassation.

The total number of reports regarding suspicions of corruption under scrutiny by Nazaha reached 90 reports in more than 37 entities, as of the end of December of last year.

The figures showed 12 reports were related to social entities and institutions, 11 reports related to the Ministry of Health, 6 related to each of the Kuwait Oil Company and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, 5 to the General Administration of Customs, 4 to each of Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Education, and three each in Kuwait Airways and the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources.
