Prosecution orders detention of citizen, 5 expatriates on charges of bribery

The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of a Kuwaiti and 5 expatriates into the Central Prison for of 21 days on charges of taking bribes in exchange for completing transactions in a government agency.

An informed source said that the citizen, who is an employee in a government service agency, was caught taking bribes from the expatriates to complete government transactions quickly without waiting for just five dinars each.

The source concluded that bribery cases are on the rise, despite the provisions of imprisonment and severe penalties in such cases.
