Priority given for debtor citizens who are on the travel ban lists

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development, Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi, revealed that determining the categories of debtors whose debts are expected to be paid from the donations of the campaign organized by the Ministry which has collected about 12 million dinars.

Al-Mutairi told Al-Qabas that a coordination meeting was held yesterday between officials of the Ministry of Affairs and representatives of the Implementation Department at the Ministry of Justice, to discuss the mechanism, controls and conditions.

Al-Mutairi expects the campaign not to include debtors who owe large sums of money, “while there will be priority given for citizens in debt who are on the travel ban lists.”

He added that the Ministry of Affairs is currently working on determining the groups whose debts will be paid from the money collected during the campaign, indicating that in light of the huge number of debtors, priority will be given to groups over others in paying their debts, such as people with special needs, the elderly and women.

Responsible sources said that determining the value as an upper limit has not yet been approved, while work is currently underway, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, to put the final touches on the included and priority categories.
