The Official Gazette “Kuwait Al Youm” published in its Sunday issue the decision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, which specifies the price list for medicines and pharmaceuticals in Kuwait.
The decision, which is published in the Official Gazette today and comes into force a month after this date, approves the prices of medicines and pharmaceutical preparations set by the Ministry, reports Al-Jarida daily.
In his decision, the minister referred to Ministerial Resolution No. 58 of 2023, which includes reducing the permissible profit in the sale price of medicines, pharmaceuticals, and nutritional supplements traded in Kuwait by a maximum of 40 percent, as of April 1 next.
He stressed this comes in implementation of the decision of the Supreme Council of Gulf Health Ministers in its session of December 27, 2006, which stipulates the approval of “unifying the import price (cost, insurance and freight) of medicines in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries”, and the decision of their seventy-first conference that was held in Geneva in May 2011, which provides for the adoption of the approved import price for Saudi Arabia, as it is often the cheapest, in the event that the preparation is registered within the member states, or a cheaper price than that is taken.
