Plans on to increase daily arrivals to 5000

Deputy Director General for Planning and Projects Affairs at the Kuwait International Airport and the official spokesman, Saad Al-Otaibi revealed to Al Anba that plans are underway to increase the daily incoming capacity to 5000 arrivals from the present 3,500 soon.

He said with the launch of allowing travel to 12 new destinations to some countries of Europe and America, according to the requests of airlines and the circulars of the Council of Ministers, the civil aviation in the country began taking measures to work on the operating mechanism according to scheduling flights by one flight for each airline to the country per week.

On the first day of implementing the decision, one flight to Georgia was operated, while 3 flights were scheduled this week to London, Malaga and Sarajevo, which are among the new destinations.

He stressed that the civil aviation was keen to operate flights to countries that are safe from the epidemic and of low risk, pointing out that 12 countries have been approved by the Council of Ministers, where flights will be scheduled according to the market need with airlines.
