130 Filipino domestic workers from shelter and deportation area of Kuwait head home to Philippines on Tuesday morning under the repatriation program of Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). The deportation and repatriation processes are accomplished in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy and Kuwait Ministry of Interiors.

Present in the departure of the workers were OWWA officers with Welfare Officers Emmanuel Diaz, Rowena Calanza, Case Officer Soledad Failakawi and Legal Counsel Atty. Sofia Matote. At present there are still 329 wards currently housed in the shelter and it receives ten to twenty run – away workers on daily basis. The repatriation program of OWWA and MWO look after the welfare and safety of OFWs in Kuwait and in particular the distressed workers. Weekly flights are currently being arranged by Paulita Lundang of Dadabhai Travel.
