PART says comprehensive study is a must when building cities

The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport stressed on the need to take into account the conduct of an adequate and comprehensive study before allocating areas for cities to ensure that these sites do not become victims of torrential rains or ensure that everything is taken into account before planning these cities to avoid the dangers of flooding.

According to a local Arabic daily, the authority said in a special report, that attention must be paid while doing the inventory of available and suitable sites for the establishment of new residential cities, regions and suburbs for citizens in terms of contractual aspects supervising the implementation and maintenance of rain drainage systems for the northern, southern and western urban areas and the future expansions of the residential city of South Sabah Al-Ahmad in coordination with the Public Authority for Housing Welfare putting emphasis on the importance of protecting future projects from torrential rains, especially the city of South Sabah Al-Ahmad, which is currently in the process of submitting project documents, and East Sabah Al-Ahmad City, where the PAHW is currently carrying out infrastructure works.
