PAM reviewing companies’ files to study the needs assessment

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has started strict procedures to halt the violation of employing marginal workers in companies and various businesses, Al-Qabas daily reported. Official sources said that the authority is reviewing the files of hundreds of companies that obtained licenses in the six governorates, and the violators were notified of the need to amend their status.

Violations were registered against businesses and companies, which included unfurnished companies that obtained licenses as shops or various activities, and did not list the jobs for those registered on the file. Their file will be suspended, and all activities disabled until the situation is corrected.

The two departments will make daily visits to companies registered in the governorates to check the total number of existing workers, and compare them with the numbers specified in the labor need estimate. In the event there is evidence that the labor numbers listed in the company files does not match up, the name is temporarily deleted in PAM’s files, and it is re-added after the business owners provide the details including the specialized employees.

In addition, Fahd Murad, Director of the Inspection Department at the Authority revealed to Al-Qabas daily that the campaign, which is carried out to monitor companies and their activities who are not committed to laws and regulations, aims to make them aware of the seriousness of the matter they are engaged in manipulating the labor market system.

Murad added after making sure the workers registered in the companies are not properly listed, legal measures are taken against the employer and the worker until the conditions are modified, including suspending the files, and referring them to the competent authorities for investigation.

In a similar statement, the observer of the Needs Assessment Department in the Ahmadi Governorate, Nasser Al-Jarib, confirmed that the Department is taking measures on its part by suspending the needs assessment files of erring companies temporarily until the situation is corrected.

Al-Jarib stated that this includes halting the transfer, renewal and annulment of work permits until the review is completed and the situation is corrected.
