PAM requires registration for mobile vehicles online for obtaining new work permits

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) called on mobile vehicle owners to register their vehicles through the online system and obtain the approval of the competent department, Al Qabas daily reported. In this context, the total number of owned vehicles registered on the new online systems since its launch on January 12, until February 7, reached 3923 vehicles.

PAM said that if the vehicle owner wants to request a new need assessment and the profession of a driver, he must register his owned vehicle through the online system and then apply to submit the required profession.

Under the new regulations, the online system linked with the General Traffic Department and the Ministry of Commerce in addition to linking the need assessment to the validity period of the commercial licence.

In addition, responsible sources at PAM confirmed that vehicle owners are obligated to register their vehicles with the General Traffic Department according to the commercial licence and the name mentioned in the commercial licence.

After registering on the new online system and electronic linking,  some vehicle owners were obtaining work permits and then selling their vehicles to others with the names they contain according to the needs assessment.  If the vehicle is converted or sold, it must be registered according to the new register before entering the profession or making a request.

The source highlighted to the daily that the current online system is accurate and automatic, whether for mobile vehicles or the delivery of consumer orders or restaurants.

Authorities at the “workforce”, the General Traffic Department and the Ministry of Trade to work are organizing meetings on defining specific regulations for order delivery vehicles, food vehicles and mobile restaurants, and the businesses they are used for according to a technical list that will be announced soon.
