Pakistani arrested for feigning to be Kuwaiti

A Pakistani man working for a lawyers’ office has been detained for pretending to be a Kuwaiti and attempting to deceive officers at a local police station.

The man, who spoke fluent Arabic in Kuwaiti dialect and wore a dishdasha, worked as a bailiff for two lawyers and served court verdicts, issued in absentia for the arrest of Kuwaitis, to local police stations.

Farwaniya Investigation Department, which is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, found that the accused who is married to a Kuwaiti woman, approached the Farwaniya police station pretending to be a Kuwaiti and seeking to issue a court verdict against a citizen.

But when the officer in charge felt suspicious and asked the man to produce his civil ID, the imposter fumbled and said it was lying in his car and he would go and retrieve it. The police nabbed the suspect as he was trying to escape in his car.
