Pak Donors organizes Memorial Blood Donation Drive at Adan Hospital

The drive was conducted in response to Kuwait Central Blood Bank’s emergency call as Kuwait is facing an acute shortage in blood reserves due to COVID-19. The event was dedicated to Quaid-e-Azam, a tribute with a unique gesture of humanity and sacrifice. 

Pakistani community in Kuwait expressed their solidarity and gratitude by overwhelming attendance and donations.  Several hundred people, mainly of Pakistani origin visited the drive during a short span of 5 hours, adhering to all SOPs prescribed by MOH, Kuwait.  

The event was organized by the Pakistani Blood Donors Association (Pak Donors) with the support of the Islamic Education Committee Kuwait (Youth Wing) and Kuwait Central Blood Bank as cause partners and was graced by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.  Pakistani Blood Donors Association established in 2011, is the first organization of its kind among the Pakistani Community in Kuwait, with an aim to spread awareness about the serious matter of Blood donation. It has conducted more than a dozen drives yielding thousands of pints blood donations since its incubation.

The effort was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait H.E Syed Sajjad Haider, along with embassy officials, which became the reason of encouragement and motivation for the organizers, volunteers, and donors. H.E. The Ambassador took a tour of the blood bank and was overwhelmed with the commitment and dedication of the Pakistani community in Kuwait. He addressed the gathering and appreciated the arrangements and adherence to COVID-19 SOPs guidelines issued by the Government of Kuwait. During his address, he expressed his utmost respect and gratitude for Quaid-e-Azam. He praised Pakistani community in Kuwait for coming forward for such a noble cause. He said that respect for humanity and human rights is the real face of Pakistan and we should follow the right path set by our great leader.

Dr. Samia Al-Saidan (President Green Hands Environmental Team & Social Activist) also graced the event along with a team of Green Hands Volunteers to encourage donors. She appreciated the efforts of organizing team, arrangements made by Kuwait Blood Bank and overwhelming number of donors. NCM Investment, a well-known Kuwait business organization, also participated in event under their CSR program.

(Chairman Pak Donors) Arif Butt and (Snr. Advisor Pak Donors) Ehsan-ul-haq congratulated team on another extremely successful event by Pak Donors. The event ended with a note of thanks from the team Pak Donors & team Islamic Education Committee appreciating donors and organizing team members who selflessly made sure the success of this event.  

PAK Donors aspires to inspire other communities to spread awareness of blood donation in Kuwait.
