PAHW completes building 1,110 residential apartments in Sabah Al-Ahmad

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare has announced the successful completion of site preparations and the commencement of the main road contract works and infrastructure service networks for the South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City project.

This development signifies progress in constructing 1,110 residential apartments within the Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City. In their monthly report for last September, the authority disclosed that they have received a total of 91,096 pending housing applications. They have provided 1,060 services to citizens through service centers, 22,581 through the Sahl application, and 137 through the website, reports Al-Rai daily.

The report highlighted ongoing housing projects, including the city of South Saad Al-Abdullah, which comprises 24,509 housing units, including 22,153 residential plots and 2,356 various housing products. This city has been allocated to applicants up to December 2006, with a total of 6,992 citizens already allocated. During the reported month, 538 housing units were distributed, bringing the total number of distributed units in the project to 9,413 housing units.

The report also focused on executive infrastructure projects associated with housing initiatives, particularly in the East Sabah Al-Ahmad residential area. This area comprises 1,184 houses, with the first contract involving the construction of 587 houses, achieving a contractual completion rate of 64 percent and an actual completion rate of 58 percent. The second contract, encompassing 597 homes, attained a contractual completion rate of 65 percent and an actual completion rate of 50 percent.

In addition to these projects, the Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City contract for constructing 1,110 residential apartments has been fully completed. The Wafra residential expansion, encompassing 53 industrial plots, has seen progress with a contractual completion rate of 23 percent and an actual completion rate of 28 percent. The report mentioned the initiation of site preparations and work for the contract involving main roads, infrastructure services networks, and rainwater tanks in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City project.

Furthermore, the report highlighted the number of public buildings under construction, totaling 53 buildings distributed across different cities. Construction tenders and services have been issued, including tenders for lighting suburbs and contracts for surface asphalt layers. Moreover, the report provided data on the issuance of “To Whom It May Concern” certificates for building permits, specifying the number of delivered plots and those ready for delivery in various regions.
