The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition announced that food products in which insects and worms are used during preparation will not be allowed in the country.
The Authority’s Food Technical Committee said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency after its meeting that it is not allowed to import these products according to the approved Gulf regulations “General Requirements for Halal Food”, which prohibits the use of all types of insects and worms in food, reports Al-Jarida daily.
She emphasized the authority’s keenness, through its various technical management and national committees, to follow up on all developments related to food products.
