After a long wait and delay in issuing the civil ID cards to a large segment of citizens and residents since last April, Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) is reportedly gearing up to issue the IDs soon.
In this regard, PACI is also updating its electronic system software, in order to protect the data from penetration or loss and to provide better and faster service to the visitors in addition to carrying out timely maintenance.
The authority is currently giving priority to the issuance of civil IDs to citizens, and those who are under the age of 5, based on directives issued by the PACI Director-General, Musaed Al-Asousi, because they are not included in the ‘My Identity’ application, to facilitate their visits to government institutions or travel. The cards are being issued a few days after submitting the application.
