Organizing committee for beaches holds first meeting to tackle safety requirements

The Chief of the General Fire Brigade, Lieutenant-General Khaled Al-Makrad, chaired on Monday morning in the General Fire Brigade headquarters building the first meeting of the Marine Beaches Regulation and Security Committee. The meeting was based upon the ministerial decision and directives of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, and held in the presence of the assistant agents in the concerned authorities.

Lieutenant-General Al-Mukrad welcomed the attendees and expressed appreciation to Minister Al-Khaled for the committee’s implementation of the goals of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to maintain safe beaches after following security and safety protocols to protect citizens and residents from drowning accidents, based on the requirements of concerned authorities.

Moreover, the statistics collated by the general firefighting department for drowning accidents, dangerous beach sites and beaches with a density of visitors, were presented during the meeting to coordinate with concerned authorities the development of solutions to reduce these tragic accidents and preserve community security. Several recommendations were raised and will be discussed in the next meeting. Meanwhile, Lieutenant-General Al-Mekrad stressed the need to work as a team to protect lives, and cooperate with citizens and residents in ensuring their compliance to security and safety measures.
