The Ministry of Health disclosed that the regulatory authorities have finally given their approval for the ministry’s request to award a tender for the operation, maintenance, and repair of engineering services in the new Amiri Hospital.
The tender was granted to one of the parties that offered the lowest prices while adhering to the required technical conditions and specifications. The contract is valued at 1.7 million dinars, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In addition to this, the Ministry of Health has secured other approvals related to direct contracting for the purchase of materials for the cardiac physiology department at the Amiri Hospital, known as the “Sabah Al-Ahmad Heart Center.” The cost of these materials is 717 thousand dinars.
Furthermore, the ministry has also received approval for the supply of materials used as sensors for the blood glucose meter, sugar, and insulin pumps in public hospitals. The total value of this supply is 5.3 million dinars.
Regarding cancer treatment, the ministry has been given the green light to purchase medicines used for cancer patients at the Hussein Makki Al-Jumaa Center for Specialized Surgery. The approximate cost of these medicines is 560,000 dinars.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes its commitment to providing all types of medicines, supplies, and medical equipment across its facilities, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and integrated treatment.
The Ministry is taking proactive measures to tighten the procedures for acquiring medicines, devices, equipment, and medical consumables in all health facilities. This approach aims to safeguard public funds, avoid scrutiny from the Audit Bureau, and save on the annual budget of the Ministry in this aspect.
The ministry is also focused on streamlining the bureaucratic processes and necessary approvals for the supply of medicines and medical supplies from abroad.
