The Maternity Hospital will soon open a number of health projects whether in terms of opening new hospitals or new health centers.
Informed health sources told Al-Jarida that the next few months will witness the opening of the New Maternity Hospital after the electricity supply is connected, in addition to the opening of the new Kuwait Center for Cancer Control at the end of this year.
The sources pointed out that these developmental health projects come within the framework of the Kuwait 2035 development plan, as these and other projects will contribute to bringing about a qualitative health shift in the country.
The sources stated that a number of clinics will soon be opened in a number of health areas and pointed out that the coming period will witness achievements at the health level, and the improvement of the health system in the country, in order to achieve citizens’ satisfaction, hopes and aspirations to receive an excellent health service.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health announced that speech therapy clinics at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital receive about 30 new cases of children suffering from speech delay every week.
The specialists suggested that among the causes of this problem are environmental factors related to the absence of social communication skills, the excessive use of smart devices and screens, in addition to other organic factors such as poor hearing disabilities.
A senior specialist in speech therapy and swallowing at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital, Dr. Shaima Al-Qattan said “This number is not small and is considered high compared to the residential areas covered by the hospital.”
Al-Qattan added that the children the hospital sees in speech clinics at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital are aged from one year old to 7 years old, who suffer from delays in communiation and language skills.
